Florida Power Comfort technician cleaning an AC coil

AC Coil Cleaning in Margate, FL

Restore airflow, lower your power bill and stop drain pan leaks.

In South Florida your AC runs almost all year, and the indoor (evaporator) coil collects dust, pet hair and mold. A dirty coil blocks airflow, makes the system work harder and can overflow the drain pan. We clean evaporator and condenser coils, flush the drain pan and test the safety float switch so your system cools the way it should.

AC Coil Cleaning FAQ

Common questions about cleaning your AC coil.

How often should my AC coil be cleaned?

In South Florida we recommend checking the coil at least once a year, and more often if you have pets, a lot of dust or a system that runs all day. Coil checks are included in our maintenance plans.

What is the difference between the evaporator and the condenser coil?

The evaporator coil is inside, in the air handler, and pulls heat and moisture out of your home. The condenser coil is in the outdoor unit and releases that heat outside. Both need to be clean for the AC to work well.

Can a dirty coil cause water leaks?

Yes. Dirt and mold from the coil end up in the drain pan and drain line and can clog them. When the water backs up, the safety float switch shuts the AC off to protect your ceiling, which is a common reason an AC suddenly stops.

Do you remove the coil to clean it?

Light buildup can be cleaned in place. A coil packed with dirt may need to be pulled out for a deep cleaning. We tell you which one your system needs before any work begins.

How much does coil cleaning cost?

It depends on your system and how dirty the coil is. We inspect first and give you an upfront price before any work begins.

Is the cleaning safe for my home and the environment?

Yes. We use cleaners made for AC coils, protect the area around the unit, and never rinse wash water into storm drains.
